End of the Year Meeting Dec. 9

Come join the fun as a SMBA Board Member!

We couldn’t do it without our volunteer Board!

Dog friends count, too!

The SMBA Board Members meet a few times per year to strategize and plan. We represent the Club at events like the ADK Expo and volunteer at kids’ bike races. We work on getting grants and increasing SMBA’s presence in the community. We work with DEC to get new trails built. If you love what SMBA has been doing, come to the end-of-year meeting on Saturday, December 9, 1:30-3:30 pm at The Mill in Round Lake to see how YOU can get involved! All members are welcome at the meeting, even if you don’t plan on becoming a Board member! Please RSVP to smba@saratogamtb.org or on the Event post on Facebook.

A group ride is planned at Daniels from the lot behind Artisanal prior to the meeting, 11-1pm.

Spring Trail Days at DRSF and PSF

Please join us for our Spring Trail Days. We will clean up from 9-1 and then have rides and  refreshments! Daniels Road Trail Day is Saturday, April 22 (meet at the Parking Lot) and Pittstown is on Saturday, April 29 (meet at Trailhead). Check Facebook/Instagram for updates. Dress to get dirty! Bring gloves, leaf blowers (we supply gas), rakes, loppers…whatever you think can help! Or just bring yourself and we will put you to work!

Memberships are LIVE!

Last weekend’s ADK Summer Sports Expo kicked off our 2023 Membership season! If you purchased a membership this year, expect your new sticker and map soon! While your’re at it, check out our AWESOME new stickers and add one to your order! (found on Membership page)

SMBA Board Members Become Certified in Wilderness Safety

On February 4th and 5th, Pittstown Trail Director Jack Arnold, VP Owen Dougherty, President Art Picard, and Membership Coordinator Erin Lasky participated in a Red Cross Training Course on Wilderness and Remote First Aid and Safety. The course was led by John Slyer of Sky High Adventure Center in  Averill Park. Over the course of the weekend, the SMBA board members learned how to deal with emergency situations in the woods. All partipants left the training with greater confidence and the skills to help with a wide range of scenarios–allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, bone and joint injuries, heat exhaustion, hypothemia, and bleeding–as well as CPR. Some highlights included learning how to splint properly and how to evacuate a person with a spinal cord injury. SMBA members were joined by several of our friends at Saratoga Shredders. More kids on bikes, more everyone on bikes, safety first! Ride on!
