About

The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) purchased the Daniels Road tract, the property formerly leased to SMBA by The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Finch Pruyn, in 2014. Daniels Road State Forest is an old-school trail system with the majority of the trails being over 20 years old. As such, most of the trails were built with the rake and ride method and are rough, rocky and rooty. While lacking in total elevation change, Daniels Road is packed with climbs, mostly short, punchy and difficult. Trails like Backstretch and the always popular Bee showcase the incredible riding that Daniels Road has to offer. If you enjoy challenging riding that'll push your skills, Daniels Road is one of the best places to do so in upstate NY.

If a trail is not on the map it is not considered part of the SMBA trail system and you may be trespassing on private property.
